Howdy y'all. Well I said this journal had two parts...a moan and advice.

PART 1 : Moan:
well im feeling downright sorry for myself. My usual gut problem is back ( Crohns) and it's pissing me off now. The last 4 days have been very painful and absoloutly no energy whatsoever :/ bah!! Moan over.

PART 2: Advice

Right, now this is a bit complicated so I will do my best to put it right on here so I can get my point across. Here goes. My art is usually graphite drawings and a little spot of watercolour here and there. Now, for a while I have felt myself going into a new direction, not that I will ever leave graphite, but this could be another avenue. This work is ink and is based on things I've lived through or situations I've experienced. I'm not sure what category it would come under. It could be illustration but I'm just not sure. Have any of you had this where you feel you're being pulled into a new direction? Would this kind of work be acceptable? Argh! It's like baring your soul and wondering how it will be received. What I will do is do one pic and see what reaction it gets. I will ask for critiques and hopefully some feedback to help me out. I've got to get this done as my frustration is building up that I'm not getting this down...artists know that feeling. So I will get one done soon and see what you think. Thanks guys and gals for your responses ( if I get any that is) and I'd appreciate your feedback xx

First up, sorry you're feeling poorly. there you go... That should fix it ('cos I'm like a Jesus or something :) ).

THEN: Re your new art thing. Welp... your first emotive illustration really hit's the spot, and almost forced real tears from me. Seriously (oooh... not like me at all, but yeah, it did. Honestly. Strong stuff). My humble observations are on the relevant page, but yeah you'll see I was affected by it.

I think you could well get a whole new audience, because from what I can tell lots of these... er... "humans" have... er... "feelings" which you may very well connect with through this new style. AND, as a couple of people have already said, the first one has a very appealing illustration-ly (oh look, I made a new word, just for you) quality about it, which I will say reminds me personally a little of Ed Gorey, but cuter. Maybe that's because of the female perspective, which I think adds to the honesty of the subject . There you go. No bullshit.

So yes Bev. I like it. *grins like Slimon Cowell*...  You've got ONE yesses :) .
